This is my first blog post about running. Why? Simply because I finally got around to it!
A quick autobiographical summary is in order, I think...
I'm Dave, a 49 year old runner. Never a great runner. Just a good runner. I've run 3 hours for a marathon (once), and 5 minutes for a mile (when I was a young buck!). I've run up and down hills, and even completed a couple of ultra marathons.
I don't win the races, but I sure as hell try!
Running feeds something inside me that is hungry. An internal daemon of powerful urges and willful insolence. A drive to strive, and a diviner of life meaning. A need to step out of comfort zones and strike for glory.
If you are reading this, then perhaps your inner running forces are also bubbling to the surface?
Do you want to run for your life? Not just for fitness, but for life quality? And for life duration?
I do.
